If Obama doesn’t push back on THIS one, then he will be capitulating his entire Presidency. Shelby put a hold on over 70 nominees! We can’t have this obstruction BS for each and every one of them and still get any work done in the Senate. And yet it is plain as day that that is PRECISELY what they intend to do. The Republicans together with the Democratic turncoat sellouts who screwed America on HCR are determined to sink the Obama administration with gridlock and inaction AT ALL COSTS. If Obama doesn’t recognize that and refuses to use the power of the Presidency to get anything done, then WHAT GOOD IS HE?

Is he cowering under his desk in the Oval Office whimpering “Please don’t hurt me! Can’t we all just get along?” He must be, because he’s clearly NOT getting anything done. He’s planning more “bipartisan” publicity stunts and pissing away a massive public mandate for change. What a weak, wimpy, simpering, whiny, pathetic do-nothing! I’m ashamed for having voted for him, and I wish I could take my vote back and cast it for Ralph Nader, because at least then I would KNOW that I was throwing it away on someone who would never lead the country, rather than being tricked into doing so.

I really can’t stand this crap; I think my head is going to explode!

There’s no longer any such thing as a filibuster on the floor – all the GOP has to do is endlessly suggest the absence of a quorum and then there’s roll call. And it continues.

Let the Republicans filibuster, actually filibuster, Becker’s nomination.. Think of the picture – Republicans droning on and on, holding up Senate business, in order to keep a labor representative from serving on the National Labor Relations Board.

I can’t wait till Nelson loses his reelection in 2012… even assuming a Republican will take his place. What a schmuck!

I used to be firmly in the “more and better” camp — but if “more” means Nelson… forget it. I can accept people in the Senate Democratic caucus who will vote against the caucus, but not one who will vote against cloture. That’s an unforgivable sin — which should result in a complete forfeiture of all DSCC and DNC funds, presidential campaign stops, perks and positions, pork and pet projects, etc.

Having and keeping the Senate really was a mistake on the part of the Constitution authors and amenders. The broad public only needs the head of state and the House. The Senate is really a House of Lords, in my opinion, existing to insure that the wealthy minority has its own special body in the government that protects the wealthy minority’s interests. The Senate seems to be proving that viewpoint true more and more every day. The Senate cannot be respected.

A bully is only a bully if u allow them to be one. Unfortunately, the president too often presents himself as a bipartisan wuss. As president he is within his legal right to make recess appointments. The question is does he have the fortatude to make those appointments? We just don’t know with Obama.

The thought that a puke slimeball like this can get elected and hold office shows the true shape this Country is in. He was that before healthcare brought his putrid face more into the light but people failed to see.
